Full Body PPF After‑Care Guidelines

Thank you for choosing Glitz Car Care for PPF installation on your vehicle. Proper aftercare is essential to ensure maximum durability and appearance of your PPF, as well as optimal protection for your vehicle. Please read and follow the guidelines below carefully.

Short‑Term (First 7–14 Days After Installation)

DOs

Allow the PPF to fully cure naturally – Park the vehicle indoors or in shaded areas when possible – Gently wipe light dust with a clean microfiber cloth – Use plain water if cleaning is absolutely necessary.

DON’Ts

Do not wash the vehicle (especially pressure wash) – Do not expose the car to extreme heat or prolonged direct sunlight – Do not apply wax, sealant, ceramic coating, or chemicals – Do not touch, pull, or press film edges – Do not drive aggressively or at very high speeds.

Short‑Term Care – Why It’s Important

Curing Process – After installation, PPF requires time for the adhesive to fully bond with the paint surface. Washing or exposing the car to harsh conditions too early can weaken adhesion and cause lifting or bubbling.
Heat & Sun Exposure – Excessive heat during the curing stage may overstretch the film or leave marks. Parking indoors or in shade helps the film settle evenly.
No Chemicals or Coatings – Applying wax, ceramic coating, or chemicals before the film cures can trap moisture and interfere with adhesive bonding, leading to discoloration or peeling.

Long‑Term (After 14 Days & Ongoing Care)

DOs

Wash the car using pH‑neutral car shampoo – Use soft microfiber wash mitts and towels – Maintain regular gentle hand washes – Remove bird droppings, bug splatter, and tree sap promptly – Park in shaded or covered areas when possible.

DON’Ts

Do not use automatic car washes with brushes – Do not use abrasive sponges or rough cloths – Do not use petroleum‑based, acidic, or solvent cleaners – Do not polish or compound over the PPF – Do not use high‑pressure water directly on film edges.

Long‑Term Care – Maintaining Performance & Appearance

Gentle Washing -PPF is durable but still sensitive to abrasion. Using soft microfiber materials and pH‑neutral shampoo prevents swirl marks and premature wear.
Avoid Automatic Car Washes – Brush‑type car washes can scratch the film, dull its finish, and lift edges over time due to strong mechanical friction.
Chemical Sensitivity – Harsh cleaners, degreasers, or solvents can stain, dry out, or damage the film’s topcoat, reducing its self‑healing and gloss properties.
Edge Protection – High‑pressure water directed at edges can cause lifting. Always keep pressure washers at a safe distance and angle.
